Short Story Collection

Here are some stories that are perfect for summer:

Running Blind is the first in a series by Nicki J. Markus.  Time travel, romance, and magic sound good? Then this is right up your alley. Parts 1-3 are already available on Amazon, and the fourth installment will be available any day.  See more about it here:  http://tinyurl.com/44btnxn

While Tonia Brown fans are awaiting the release of The Cold Beneath,  this is a good time to catch up on Lucky Stiff for those that haven’t already. Don’t let the erotic aspect put you off; this is a story with heart, love, and drama.  Find out about the book here: http://tinyurl.com/3mq9hnq

You don’t get more down and dirty than Heinous, Jonathan Moon’s latest release:  http://tinyurl.com/3dvocdu  Find out why this character haunted Moon for so long, and what he’s up to now that he’s been unleashed…

Never one to promote his own stuff too heavilly, I stumbled upon this little gem by Tony Schaab. Known for The G.O.R.E Score, Schaab is an author in his own right.   Take a look:  http://tinyurl.com/43ml3pg

Crystal Connor will be on Flashes in the Dark Radio next week. Catch up on her award winning novel,  The Darkness : http://tinyurl.com/4xjjped. Betrayal and deception abound!

Zombie Killer Bill is a western with a zombie twist by E.M MacCallum. You can find her book here: http://tinyurl.com/6xs5xqt

And here’s a quick plug for my books, Lazarus and Green Water Lullaby: http://tinyurl.com/6amn7rv

Pembroke Sinclair interviewed me on her blog. We talked about Green Water Lullaby, and my upcoming releases for Fall. Go get the skinny on the book’s publication and new Marradith updates:

A.M. Harte’s collection of short stories are atmospheric, creepy, and entertaining. The chills here are well executed, the gore kept to a minimum. There are a lot of touching moments here, but a good deal of humor too. Narrowing down your favorite will be a difficult job, but Dead Man’s Rose

and Seven Birds are the two that lingered with me the longest. You’ll get a chuckle from The Break Up Cafe and Dating the Undead: Reasons why a Zombie is Better than a Man.

Don’t take my word for it, though. Pick up your own copy:

Green Water Lullaby will be out on March 25th, 2011.

I couldn’t be happier about it. GWL is a book of short stories, all taking place in the fictional town of Chrysalis, South Carolina.

The stories are varied. All have some paranormal twist, but at the heart of it are stories about the citizens of the town: couples, families, and things that happen in their lives, which are only normal on the surface. Everyone has a secret of some sort in this town, and some prove deadly….

You’ll find revenge tales, love stories, ghost stories.

I hope to have an update for you on Hailey’s Shadow soon, as well.

Meanwhile, the first draft of Leny’s story is complete and being allowed to cool for revisions. As of this morning I am 11K into my new project, another Ryder related story that will be a novel/novella, depending on how many words get across my keyboard. I usually like to post bits here, but for now I intend to keep this one close to the vest.

Green Water Lullaby is being re-released through Wicked Nights this March. More polished, and available in more outlets, I am hoping that any of you that didn’t get a chance to read the collection the first time around will take a look this time. I’ll make sure to post links for it as soon as they become available.

You can take a look at all of the titles available through

Wicked Nights here:

Angel Zapata has a way with drawing you in to a story and keeping you there – even though you cringe, you crave more words. From the atmospheric crime horror-noire of The Mouth of Babes, to the subtle horror of Surrogate Fruit, and a bite of zombie lore with compassion in Dead Flames, this collection is a taste of the author’s writing career from 2008 to the 2010. You don’t have to be a horror fan to love Zapata’s work. He finds the sick and twisted amongst what at first appears normal, and humanity in the most bleak circumstances. If you like prose that paints a picture, tingles the spine, and leaves you wanting more, The Man of Shadows is highly recommended for you.

It has been a busy weekend, but it has also been a lot of fun! Tonia Brown and I interviewed Michael West, author of the short story collection Skull Full of Kisses. (available on Amazon.com) or through his publisher on this link: http://www.gravesidebooks.com/collections/skull-full-of-kisses-by-michael-west/prod_10.html . Michael is also the president of the Indiana chapter of the Horror Writers Association. Amongst other things, we discussed what horror writer conventions are like ( for example, meeting a famous author and being star struck) to finding pictures of yourself on the internet that you don’t remember!

Michael also shared what he feels are the qualities that a writer must possess to make it in the hard knock world of publishing. To hear Michael’s insights, click here: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/profile.aspx?userurl=sonar4magtalkshow

I have two videos that are out to promote my own work.

Here is the one for Green Water Lullaby: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YacmLZRp-6Y

The video for The Marradith Ryder Series features Raul Faria’s artwork:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULTTseiM1Yc

Place your order for GWL, and drop in to Flashes in the Dark to catch up on the latest Marradith Ryder episode.
