Hailey’s Shadow

Tonia Brown interviewed me on Sunday—and of course, like any other time we get together, we had fun!

Pembroke Sinclair interviewed me on her blog. We talked about Green Water Lullaby, and my upcoming releases for Fall. Go get the skinny on the book’s publication and new Marradith updates:

After being moved, dusted off, and picked up again,
Hailey’s Shadow will have a new home at Wicked Nights. The release date is set for Fall 2011.

Green Water Lullaby is out this Friday…..

So far, it’s working out to be a great week.

Green Water Lullaby will be out on March 25th, 2011.

I couldn’t be happier about it. GWL is a book of short stories, all taking place in the fictional town of Chrysalis, South Carolina.

The stories are varied. All have some paranormal twist, but at the heart of it are stories about the citizens of the town: couples, families, and things that happen in their lives, which are only normal on the surface. Everyone has a secret of some sort in this town, and some prove deadly….

You’ll find revenge tales, love stories, ghost stories.

I hope to have an update for you on Hailey’s Shadow soon, as well.

Meanwhile, the first draft of Leny’s story is complete and being allowed to cool for revisions. As of this morning I am 11K into my new project, another Ryder related story that will be a novel/novella, depending on how many words get across my keyboard. I usually like to post bits here, but for now I intend to keep this one close to the vest.

While Hailey’s Shadow is just a couple of quick breaths away from being released, check out Heather Faville’s article on Doubleshot Reviews.

Hailey’s Shadow is one of those odd little projects that took on a life of it’s own.

Now that the story is close to being published, it’s going to be a relief to have it out. Hailey has lived a sort of half-life through more than one short story, so the new novella gives her a chance to misbehave on a grander scale than ever before.

She’s fun to write by the virtue that she has no code of morals–except getting what she wants when she wants it.  This is not a person you’d want to meet in real life.

So, until she raises hell next month, you can get a little snippet of the story on Flashes in the Dark:

Hailey is not your ordinary woman.

She’s been accussed of murder, arson, and a list of other crimes. But she also claims to be tortured by “shadows” that tell her things about the future. Read Loretta Sylvestre’s review of this story:

I’ve been lucky enough to get a sneak peek at Lori Titus’ upcoming novelette, Hailey’s Shadow. Reminiscent of some of her earlier work, this 10,000 word story walks a line between horror and mystery. It showcases Titus’ talent for the latter in particular.
